Hands-down, You Need A Budget (YNAB) is the way to go. Know where to find every single dollar (which account its in), and what each dollar’s purpose is. You will hear about YNAB a lot in this blog. Seriously, it’s the reason for my laser focus.  Get YNAB here.

We are trying really hard to align ourselves with a streamlined lifestyle, valuing experiences over things as a way to enrich our lives. I don’t think we will ever be “severe” minimalists, owning only a few dozen items, but it is something to strive for. We all tend to collect things and never use them as often as intended. Simplifying brings a certain amount of peace of mind. For inspiration, we love The Minimalists.  Check out their blog, their books, and especially their documentary.
